Web1 dec. 2024 · Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a useful tool for the evaluation of structure and function of the kidney, but the image quality can be effected by many factors. Objective The objective of this study was to assess the image quality of different OCT systems in OCT imaging of the living kidney. Methods WebThese processes are regulated by mechanisms intrinsic to the kidney, by hormonal controllers, and by the renal innervation. Increased activity of renal sympathetic (efferent) nerves decreases glomerular filtration rate (GFR) and increases tubular sodium reabsorption, resulting in sodium retention.
